Emperor Claudius (10 b.C.-54 a.C.). 4th Roman Emperor, born in Lyon (Lugdunum) on 10 August 10 b.C. The first to be born outside the Italian peninsula. He opened the Senate to the Gauls, allowing them to enter the Roman institutions and magistracies. “And yet, if we review all the wars, none ended in a shorter time than the one against the Gauls: since then peace has been continuous and sure.”

Empereur Claude (10 av. J.-C. – 54 ap. J.-C.). Quatrième empereur romain, né à Lyon (Lugdunum) le 10 août 10 av. J.-C. Le premier à être né en dehors de la péninsule italienne. Il ouvrit le Sénat aux Gaulois, leur permettant d’entrer dans les institutions et magistratures romaines. “Et pourtant, si nous passons en revue toutes les guerres, aucune ne s’est terminée en moins de temps que celle contre les Gaulois : depuis lors, la paix est continue et sûre.”

Imperatore Claudio (10 a.C. – 54 d.C.). Quarto imperatore romano, nato a Lione (Lugdunum) il 10 agosto 10 a.C. Fu il primo a nascere al di fuori della penisola italiana. Aprì il Senato ai Galli, permettendo loro di entrare nelle istituzioni e nelle magistrature romane. “Eppure, se rivediamo tutte le guerre, nessuna è terminata in un tempo più breve di quella contro i Galli: da allora la pace è stata continua e sicura.”
