Barthélemy Buyer (1433 a.C. -1485 a.C.), born in Lyon. Publisher, he installed the first printing house in Lyon on the left bank of the Saone, in what is now rue Merciere, which later became the street of printers in Lyon. Louis XI allegedly visited his workshop. It is the oldest publisher in France. “The invention of printing is the greatest event in history” (Victor Hugo).

Barthélemy Buyer (1433 av. J.-C. – 1485 av. J.-C.), né à Lyon. Éditeur, il installa la première imprimerie à Lyon sur la rive gauche de la Saône, dans ce qui est maintenant la rue Mercière, devenue plus tard la rue des imprimeurs à Lyon.
